God revealed religion out of His mercy, because we need it and cannot be truly human without it. Only those who have passed through the trials of religious experience are worthy of eternal happiness and will be distinguished in the Hereafter.

True religion is the assemblage of Divine Revelations and Divine Laws by which we can know bliss in this world and the next. Our peace and happiness depend upon leading a religious life, for only through religion can the Law be observed in all the inner and outer spheres of our existence. Only religion makes it possible for us to deserve Paradise and the vision of God. Such achievements are beyond the power of every human-made civilization, regardless of how advanced they are. [M. Fethullah Gulen]

    Food for thought:
So little done; so much to do. Time is the scarcest resource and unless it is managed, nothing else can be managed. Don't simply retire from something, have something to retire to.

Patience is faith in action. Patience is emotional diligence. It is the willingness to suffer inside so that others can grow. It reveals love. It gives birth to understanding. Even as we become aware of our suffering in love, we learn about ourselves, and our own weaknesses and motives.

Optimism and humor are the grease and glue of life. Without both of them we would never have survived our captivity.

Life is not defined by what happens to us; it is defined by how we use our circumstances to make this a better world. Our destinations are not determined by the trails we inherit but by those we create.

Forget and forgive. This is not difficult when properly understood. It means forget inconvenient duties, then forgive yourself for forgetting. By rigid practice and stern determination, it comes easy.

There is a loftier ambition then merely to stand high in the world. It is to stoop down and lift mankind a little higher

When you have tasted flight you will always walk. For there you ahve been and there you will always be.

Time is too slow for those who wait
Time is too swift for those who fear
Time is too long for those who grieve
Time is too short for those who rejoice
But for those who love, time is eternity

Life belongs to the living, and he who lives must be prepared for changes.
    -- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Every gun that is fired, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.
    -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

It’s true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

The sun at noontide showed me the world and all its wonder but the night has shown me the universe, the countless stars and illimitable spaces, the vastness and the wonder of all life. The perfect day only showed me man's world, but the night showed me God's Universe. ~ Clarence Hawkes

    It is madness

To hate all roses because you got scratched with one thorn....

To give up on your dreams because one didn't come true....

Not to believe in love because someone was unfaithful or didn't love you back...

Satan does everything he can to seduce us. We are very complex beings, for God manifests all of His names on us in this world of testing. We are sent here to be trained so that we can serve as a mirror to God and earn eternal happiness.

In order to do this, we must train and develop all of our God-given feelings, faculties, and potentials. If some of these are not trained (e.g., intellect, anger, greed, obstinacy, and lust) and directed to lofty goals, but abused and used for disagreeable purposes, we will place our present and future life in danger. This is also true if we do not restrict our natural desires and animal instincts by satisfying them in acceptable ways. [M. Fethullah Gulen]

    Food for thought:
There are no secrets to success -- it is result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failures. Try, try, try, and keep trying is the rule that must be followed to become an expert in anything. Luck is when opportunities and preparation meet.
