    No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or by emotional appeal.

    Our behaviour is a function of our decisions, not our conditions. We can subordinate feelings to values. We have the the initiative and the responsibility to make things happen.

    Look at the word responsibility- " response-ability" the ability to choose your response. Proactive people do not blame circumstances,conditions,or conditioning for their behaviour. Their behaviour is a product of their own conscious choice, based on values, rather than a product of their conditions, based on feelings.

    No one can hurt you without your consent

    They cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them. It is our willing permission, our consent to what happens to us, that hurts us far more than what happens to us in the first place

    There's always a little truth behind every "just kidding"... A little knowledge behind every "I don't know"... A little emotion behind every "I don't care"... And a little pain behind every "it's okay".

    Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than
    the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows
    it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter
    whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be
    running.

    One ship drives east and another west,
    With the self same winds that blow.
    'Tis the set of the sails, and not the gales,
    that tell us the way to go.
    Like the wind sof the sea are he ways of the fate;
    as we voyage along through life,
    'Tis the set of a soul that decides its goal,
    and not the calm, or the strife.
