1.4 billion people live under the poverty line - 1.25 USD per day. 20000 Africans die needlessly everyday due to AIDS, malaria and TB. 1.02 billion people do not have enough to eat. 3/4s of this are rural poor farmers who will also bear the brunt of global warming.

Thank you for posting that. It really is the most informative programme I have ever seen on the Israel /Palestine subject. It helps put things into perspective and deals with the actual realities of the situation in Israel. Israel’s cynical use of planning laws and the ethics of military warfare are particularly shocking. The presenter of the programme, an Israeli Jew himself, cites racism as being the true reason for the problem, hence the title of the programme.

    It is a “must watch”.

It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

Vinod, Roswell, since you can understand Urdu (for others there is English translation), I'd like your impressions for sure. Are his soft spoken mannerisms and demeanour (forget the ideas for a while) any different from a Tablighi etc. ?

This man appears calm, without doubt. It is as if he has no conscience. Capital penalty is irrelevant here, but...

No. The seasoned Tablighi never engages in a heated conversation. He backs off as soon as there is a even a slight detection of heat in the conversation. The seasoned tablighi is a lot more soft spoken than that and has his thoughts better collected than the interviewee in the video.

One interesting thing though. Ever notice that if a Jew and a Muslim do basically the same thing, the Muslims a bad guy and the Jewish guy isn't that bad?

The Great Issues Forum: Immigration and Islam

A good panel discussion, refreshingly free of hysteria.

Now, if only MF, sumuque and Boriqi would listen to that panel discussion closely. I liked what the British dude said "Part of the problem with Islam is that it is too damn democratic. If only there was one voice to it"
