Default Strange Thought Occured to Me

I just realized that with the anti-terror frenzy going on in the United States this board is almost certainly monitored by CIA and other agencies looking for places where potential "extremists" meet.

The monitoring could be by a computer program that tracks certain words but it could be a real person.

Hello, Mr. Bond. Can you see my typing? How much do you make? (I have always wondered)

It would kind of defeat the purpose to tell you, don't you think?

I'm just fooling around but I honestly believe they are out there.

Yes, it's probable that they have a large webcrawl on terrorist information or something. I live fairly close to the NSA and CIA headquarters, so it's not uncommon to know someone who works or used to works there.

    Namaste all,

they don't monitor particular sites... the monitoring software sits on the backbone, the actual Points of Presence or POPs, and filters based on key words everything that passes through them.

they used to use a software called Carnivore which was then upgraded to Omnivore... and it has now been upgraded again to a software called Dragonware.

you can read up on it here:
