    Default please help!

    i bin havin a debate wid me friend who blives we can change our fate... thing is i thout we cudnt, it had alredy bin decided for us.. but den i get confused.. if Allah already knows if we are gng to fail or pass in this world in terms of religion and accepting Islam fully then nothing we can do or not do will change dat rite??? coz its already bin decided... so its alredy decided if we gng to hell or heaven???

    plz help - dis has bin buggin me for ages... and i dont want to lose my faith...

    isn't there a Hadith that prohibits such discussions? Correct me if im wrong.

    Palm,

    Why would a hadith prohibit any discussion? I personally think this is healthy and if it goes well then one can come out stronger in faith. I believe that the Qur'an expresses that God wants us to use our intellect and seek truth. How can this be achieved without discussing things?

    Secular philosophy has recently started to move away from the naive view of free will and fate being mutually exclusive opposites, whereas the Koran was way ahead of them fourteen hundred years ago with its "contradiction" *rolls eyes* on the matter.
