    Here's a good one I've found:

    Late afternoons I often bathe.
I'll soak in water piping hot.
My essence goes through my see through clothes.
Used up am I; I've gone to pot

    Here are some more, too!

I'm sometimes white and sometimes black
I'll take you somewhere but I won't bring you back

Old Mother Twitchett had but one eye
And a long tail which she let fly
And every time she went through a gap
A bit of her tail she left in a trap

It's been a week and a half and no answers. Come now, I don't think these riddles are as hard as all that. Are you all too stumped even to try it or has everyone simply forgotten about this thread?

That'd be a needle and thread.

Correct again! Sorry that one was so easy. I shouldn't have posted it. Now tell me, if you can, the answer to the other riddle, and I'll give you a couple of new ones. (Hey, I know a ton of riddles, I just love them so much, and am good at finding ones I didn't know before.) The remaining riddle, again, is:

I'm sometimes white and sometimes black
I'll take you somewhere but I won't bring you back

    A hearse.

    Bingo! Good for you! :cheer:

Now here are two more for good measure!

Some folks will use me while others will not
Some have remembered me, others forgot
For profit or gain I am used expertly
I can't be picked up or tossed into the sea
I can only be captured with patience and time
Now tell me, friend, can you unravel this rhyme?

In a mousetrap or in bed it can be seen
Or also in a watch or a new trampoline
It’s there in your step and it quenches your thirst
And it always recurs though it’s never rehearsed

It's been a week and no one's hazarded a guess. I take it that you've all stopped trying. Here are the answers:

Some folks will use me while others will not
Some have remembered me, others forgot
For profit or gain I am used expertly
I can't be picked up or tossed into the sea
I can only be captured with patience and time
Now tell me, friend, can you unravel this rhyme?

    The answer is "knowledge".

In a mousetrap or in bed it can be seen
Or also in a watch or a new trampoline
It’s there in your step and it quenches your thirst
And it always recurs though it’s never rehearsed

    The answer is "a spring".

    Aren't those riddles nifty?

Now I'd like to try out another riddle I have devised. I want you folks to try your best to figure it out, because I'm posting it here as a test. You see, I'm worried that it might be too easy, so if (or when) someone does figure it out, I would like for that someone to please tell me how hard it was. Here is the riddle:

    Earth surrounds earth
    And without feeding feeds it
    Within it gives birth
    And mere mist impedes it

Come on...isn't anybody even looking at this thread? Has everyone abandoned the riddles? Must I test my riddle elsehwhere?
