Asif asked his mother for a $90 toy. His mother told him he would have to the make the money himself. To help him, she said she would match however much money Asif made in the first day of his job with the exact square of that amount. "So if you earn $2, I'll give you $4", his mother said. On the first day, twenty people each bought an item for 15¢, bringing in $3. At first the mother thought that she had gotten off lightly, until Asif told her that she owed exactly as much as the toy cost. How did Asif outwit his mother?
