    Salaam Osman,

I voted for Ron. How did someone so fuzzy come to be in charge?

:love:Aww...look how fast you've grown! Now we can see your wee little nose...
    What's ur real name?
Why did you choose your nick name?
I did not choose my nick name. It's the feminine form of my husband's pen name, which he gave to me, and I've lacked the creativity or interest to change it.
    Date of birth?
    December
    Your formal/extra qualification?
    Learning from my mistakes.
    Where do you live?
    Oregon, USA
    Your religion is?
    Islam
How and when did you arrive to this forum?
I was directed to the main website as a new convert about 5 years ago. I joined the discussion forum last winter, mainly as a means of discussing personal struggles with orthodox teaching.
Honestly tell us about the first impression this forum made?
Inquiry and discussion are much more open than most other Islamic forums I've seen.
Who has become your acquaintance in first place over here?
I'm not sure what this question is asking.
Is there any, do you think your ever dimwit post around?
I'm not sure what this question is asking, either.
What you don't like about the forum?
Hmm...the only thing I can think of is that I sometimes find it taxing to read very, very, very long posts, 'specially the cut-n-paste kind.
How many times have you got -ve reputation points?
    Twice.
What did you achieve from this forum?
I don't know that I've acheived anything for the forum.
    Any messages for all?
    'Eid mubarak!

If you were stuck on a desert island, all alone, what one object would you wish for, excluding means of transport?

What would be the top few things that heaven would not be heaven without?

What things would you have in hell ~ in other words, what are you most afraid of?

On a scale of 0-10 (where 0 is animal, 10 is angel) - where would you place yourself?

Which one (in)famous person in the world would you like to attempt to drown in a bowl of cereal?

What personalities do you think a general, genuine Muslimah looks for and holds in reverance in a potential husband?

Do you think that good friends are always arguing and fighting?

To what extent do you support the statement, "you always hurt the ones you love"?

Which few laws/rules in Islam do you find slightly cumbersome?

Which few laws/rules in Islam, in your opinion, give it its sparkling image?

If you could spend one day with any figure in history, who would it be? Why?

If i were to give you $1,000,000, what would you do them?

If you were any animal, which would it be? Why?

Do you think ive asked too many questions?

Warm Regards ~ I am going to enjoy this!

Does my husband count as an 'object'? If he doesn't count, then I guess I'll be needing a good knife.
What would be the top few things that heaven would not be heaven without?
God, love, light, answers to all my questions.
What things would you have in hell ~ in other words, what are you most afraid of?
Hell is the absense of everything but self.
On a scale of 0-10 (where 0 is animal, 10 is angel) - where would you place yourself?
I don't understand the scale. Is zero supposed to represent utter disobedience or moral depravity...or some condition opposite to that of angels? If so, animals don't really fit the description. Please elaborate.
Which one (in)famous person in the world would you like to attempt to drown in a bowl of cereal?
Oh, I dunno...just about anyone who sings rap music, I guess.
What personalities do you think a general, genuine Muslimah looks for and holds in reverance in a potential husband?
I certainly can't speak for muslimahs in general. For myself, honesty, humility and kindness are important.
Do you think that good friends are always arguing and fighting?
    'Always'? No.
To what extent do you support the statement, "you always hurt the ones you love"?
    'Always'? No.
Which few laws/rules in Islam do you find slightly cumbersome?
I have a hard time grasping the need for wudhu.
Which few laws/rules in Islam, in your opinion, give it its sparkling image?
At the risk of sounding like an antinomian, I don't believe that rules and laws lend sparkle to anything. Rules and laws are an admission of humanity's failings. To paraphrase MLK, 'Judicial decrees cannot change the heart, they can only restrain the heartless.'

What lends sparkle to muslims, or any people, is when the spirit of the Lawgiver is revered, and those virtues which are perfected in Him are imbibed into a persons character, thus making laws unecessary.
If you could spend one day with any figure in history, who would it be? Why?
I honestly don't know. Maybe my dad.
If i were to give you $1,000,000, what would you do them?
Pay off any debts in the family, secure a modest means of self-sufficient sustenance, and start a charitable organization.
If you were any animal, which would it be? Why?
Actually, I already am an animal...but I'm assuming you mean a different kind of animal. I'd like to try being a dolphin or falcon, I suppose, just to enjoy living in a different element.
Do you think ive asked too many questions?
The question of the wise is worth more than the answer of the foolish.

What are your views on property? (i remember u wanting to be asked this question)
This is a thought provoking question. I think Haroon's answer was good, but I'd go a bit farther and say that when I am Queen, I shall eliminate all private ownership of real estate. Citizens of the realm may use public lands in trust, all land use being dictated by the health and happiness of future generations. Of course, I will have ministers with better heads than me to work out all the details.
Are you a night owl or a morning person?
That entirely depends on when I drink my coffee.
What kind of animal is that fuzzy thing?
    That is an Osman.
What countries have u been to?
I've made brief forays into Canada and Mexico...*sigh*. But I've tried to make up for my lack of worldly cultivation by watching foreign movies.
    Embarassing moment(s)? do tell
The first time I prayed salat, I was in a small group of muslim ladies. When the sister on my left turned my way to end the prayer with tasleem, I thought she was talking to me, so I looked at her and said, "walaikum salaam!" and put out my hand to greet her. I was a bit put out when she totally ignored me and turned to greet the person on her left.

I was having a hard time disciplining myself to pray fajr on time as a new muslim. One of the first occasions I went to juma'ah prayer, I noticed all the sisters rushing in and praying two rakat (tahiyat al masjid) before the khutbah. I said to the lady next to me, "Now I don't feel so bad...look how late everyone's praying fajr!"

    Salaam,

Sometimes it's difficult for me to translate what I call girl-talk. Last time I checked, you were a girl so perhaps you can elaborate on this which I just plain don't understand:

"But senior boys, hmm, they have mystery. They have... What's the word I'm searching for? Cars! I just am not the type to settle. You know? It's like when I go shopping. I have to have the most expensive thing. Not because it's expensive, but because it costs more."

I caught it whilst I was flicking through the tv channels the other day. Is that even English?

    Salaam Osman,

Was that an actual interview question?

I don't think it's quite fair to label that 'girl-talk'. At least I don't remember ever speaking that language. This looks like the typical TV/movie characterization of a superficial, vacuous girl. Let me guess...she was probably the archetypal spoiled blonde cheerleader, no?

If some girls actually talk that way, I'm not aware - let's hope not. If you ever hear any girls speak this way in real life, the only translation you need is, "Steer clear." All right, lil' bro?

Senior boys (reffered to 12th graders).. basically the dumb person is saying that she only settles for whats worth a lot, dont matter what it is just as long as its the most expensive, basically a guy with the most expensive vehicle would suit her interest.

sadly those are called gold diggers

I have read through those discussions and they certainly do give us problems in looking at orthodox teachings. I sense holy scriptures are written in such a way that they give us the freedom to justify doing things our own way, and they also encourage us to surrender our own ways; and then strive to do things God’s way.

We are given the choice; and often our own ways seem better hence all the problems in this world.

In the spirit of striving for interfaith relations
