Default Let Us All Work Together

    Assalamu'alaikum wr wb.

    Brothers of Islam!

Ok, i've been wanting to sound like an imam for a long time. Heh.

I'm Muhammad Shahrul, a new member to understanding-islam forums. I'm fifteen in November and I live in Singapore. I am sad to say i got very interested in theology just recently, perhaps a year or so. I hope to learn from my fellow Muslims around the world, and i have reached this site. I just want to express the love I feel for ALLAH Ta'ala, and all my brothers and sisters of Islam.

Let us all work together in fighting for God's true religion. It doesn't have to be in the form of the greater jihad. As Rasulullah once said, which meant something like this, "Fight by the sword; it is justifiable, because it does not kill the innocent." We don't really have to attack the People of the Book with errors in the Bible and what the Quran has to say. We have the faith, my friends, the hidayat of Allah. Let us strive to improve ourselves, before we improve others. We are the cause of any bad image cast upon our religion by the Kafrs; we have to show them what we really represent. Let us have Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as our 'Idol', rather than the American Idol, Arabian Idol, Malaysian Idol, Singapore Idol, etc. Let us hold this fort we have, that the Holy Prophet suffered and even died for.

There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad PBUH is His Messenger.

    Assalamualaikum wr wb.

    Aslaam Alaykum

Let me be the first to welcome you to our humble abode inshallaah'ta'Allaah. Enjoy your stay here, share your knowledge and learn the deen of Al-Islaam with all your ability. We are your brothers, together we are one under the banner of LA ILLA HA ILLALLAL LAAH.

One small thing however, the prophet Muhammad (sallallhualayi'wa'salaam) is not a idol, he (sallallhualayhi'wa'salaam) was a slave and servent of Allaah subhannhu'wa'tallaah. You probaly never meant it literrally, just a small reminder.

    Wa'alaykum salaam.

Alhamdulillah, thank you very much for the warm welcome, Hash. Yes, i meant that we should look up to Muhammad for his wonderful examples to all Muslims, and love him as much as or more than we do our favourite singers, etc. Allah bless you, my brother.

    Assalamu Alaikum,

Let me be another to welcome you to the forum! As Haroon would say 'Look left, look right, and you will find no better forum than UI ' Welcome dear brother. I must say that for your age, you are very mature. But as they say, age is but a number Don't I know it .....

The love you have for Allah and the ummah is becoming rare. Keep it safe and don't let it be corrupted.

Indeed, very wise words coming from you there.

Invite (mankind, O Muhammad SAW) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Quran) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.

Let us strive to improve ourselves, before we improve others.

Aye, and find faults in yourself before you find faults in others.

I think for the most part, it is the muslims that have brought these misconceptions upon themselves. If we were united and practised our religion to the best of our ability then it probably wouldn't be the way it is. Terrible, I say. Terrible. The Osman has spoken.

I think you meant 'idol' as in someone we take the example of and follow, right?

I'm 26 and I stay in Singapore (Jurong East), as well. Surprise! Caught you off-guard, didn't I?

What's the masjid closest to you? We may bump into each other there, if Allah wills.

Ilmu (pronounced as Ill- muuu)- that's the standard Malay way of saying 'Ilm I find that cute.
Have a pleasant stay on the forum. Hope to learn from you, inshaAllah

Yeow maan. We live so closeby. Mumineen is the closest mosque near my house. Infact, my block is just opposite mu'mineen. Hasanah is so closeby as well. You know what? I pray jummah regularly at hasanah. Sounds like we're destined to bump into each other, inshaAllah.

So, are you a full time madrasah student? Or do you go to madrasah only during vacations?

I bet it's school holidays for ya and you're just killing time on the internet and found this site, right?

    Good find, I'd say.

I go to madrasah on Sundays only. Now's a vacation of course. Unfortunately, i pray jumaat at Darussalam Mosque in Clementi, coz school finishes at 1230. But if there's no remedial class this friday, i'll be going to Hasanah this week. Hope i can meet u, even if i can't recognize u!

    Salam vinod.

I usually pray on the 2nd floor in the hall behind. I'll be in my office dress - formal pants and shirt. No tie. No specs. I look like an Indian with a teeny-weeny malay kind of beard on my chin. See, if you can spot me, InshaAllah.

    Was-salam
