    Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said,

"If any of you becomes angry let him keep silent." -- Musnad Ahmad.

It is very easy to lose control of one's self during anger and a person tends to do things he would never have normally done, so to save yourself and others from sorrow and regret, follow the prophetic prescription, and remove yourself from the situation and place at the time.

If you're feeling out of control due to anger, take a step back, breathe deeply and lie down. It'l help loosen the tension that causes the body to stiffen up.

How about drinking some cold water to freeze the anger?

Drinking water is also a prophetic prescription for anger. Try it next time you feel out of control. If it gets too bad you should make wudhu also.

Another effective way of dealing with anger is, if the victim is for example, a child, woman or someone lesser in physical power than you - - would you even consider fighting a person your level of strength, or someone who is your superior -- or would you back off?

Remember, acting in anger towards your subordinates is pure cowardice and must be stopped.

Dont forget there is Allah, watching you losing control of yourself when you're acting all out in anger. What you have done is far more deserving of His punishment than the victim that you perceive to be your "enemy", thereby unleashing your anger, but it is solely through His mercy that He is giving you a chance. A chance to recover, to change and to contain yourself, and a chance to become a better person where you can be called a blessing by others.

There is nothing better than showing mercy and leniency towards your subject at the time of anger especially if it is a child or person who is weak.

Uncontrolled anger is like a demon unleashed within ones self, and allowing it to escalate is like accepting such behaviour from the beast within.

Anger is a natural emotion, but you need to rein it and control it. There is no point in getting angry at others for little mistakes that they do. Remember you are not free from mistakes.

Angry people are more prone to stress and make for a miserable life. Not only that but they endanger other people's lives which makes them stressful. Its a vicious cycle.

Speaking of the qualities of the mindful people, Allah says in the Qur'an:

“Those who spend (in the path of Allah) in prosperity and in adversity, who suppress their anger, and who pardon men, verily, Allah loves the Muhsinoon (the good-doers).” [3:134]
