As Salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,


A good friend of mine, Lumumba Shakur, recently suffered the lost of his mother to cancer approximately one week ago, and unfortunately does not have the funds necessary to secure for her a proper burial. Neither he nor his siblings are in a position to bear the financial burdens of their mother's funeral thereby leaving the only option left to them the prospect of cremation. Many of you know Lumumba who has been a dedicated and active student of Islam for over a decade having acted as TA for Sunnipath and other online educational endeavors. The family needs close to $10,000 by Saturday to ensure that his mother receives a proper funeral. Please help our brother in whatever way you can. Please give if you can. I do appreciate all the support I have received. If anyone is wondering, because of the overwhelming love and support I have received from the English-speaking Muslim community (from American to Australia) we have raised enough money to cover the funeral expenses. I still request you du'a and I thank everyone for everything they have done. Whether it was donations or their kind, comforting words and prayers.
