    contrast the christian god willing to receiving a good drubbing from pagan romans with yhwh who says he will GIVE A NEW HEART .

    I will take you from the nations, and gather you
    from all the countries, and bring you into your own
    land. I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you
    shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and
    from all your idols I will cleanse you. A new heart I
    will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you;
    and I will remove from your body the heart of
    stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my
    spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes
    and be careful to observe my ordinances.
    Then you
    shall live in the land that I gave to your ancestors;
    and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
    (Ezek 36:24-28)

    SO much for a diety requiring violence to make sacrifice to himself to be able to save the human being. in the above verses it shows again that the humans would save themselves because of the NEW hearts god gave them.the law is so important that yhwh says you will FOLLOW a list of statutes. this is obviously refering to the old laws because the old laws were eternal and perfect according to the torah
    If you or I had the option to pay for our sins by being crucified and dying in a few hours (jesus did not even suffer as much as most of the other folks who were crucified in his day) or suffering eternal hell, it would be a no-brainer. We would choose to be crucified.

    Please don't turn this into another "debate with Jude" thread! Every thread on this forum these days is dedicated to Jude. Forget "Understanding Islam." This forum is "Understanding Jude3." Can we just ignore him and let him babble to himself? Or would no one have anything else to discuss on here without him?

I mean, back in the day when we really got into it with others in a discussion or a debate, our viewership for just that single thread was at the very least in the hundreds and many times in the thousands.

    And as for recent times, most notably in the past year or 2, the viewership is equalled to the posts that were posted in the thread. I suppose in a way, thats a good thing to hear for a person like myself who stands on the sides of orthodoxy, but these figures are so poor, that I actually feel some pity. I know that a good portion of the main residents even frequent the forum, myself included, but the numbers keep making me laugh.

    any thoughts
    Early retirement, possibly?

    Islam needs a forum like this so you can work out your theology on the fly....that poor guy found wanking during ramhadan classic case in point. He was in distress trying to work out how mighty Allah will act. What a disaster.

    Surely it's legitimate for me to contrast this with the peace and surety that comes from being a disclpe of yeshua?

    But, as is always the case, you guys go off half cocked, getting huffy and putting on your angry faces.
    it might be nigh time to finally get off this ritalin of yours.

    The forum is primarily now for Bible-thumping forum trolls like jude and his/her ilk. Time and time again they have taken forum threads off topic and moderators have done nothing. That is why many have left. They are sick of missionaries and trolls who have free rein on this.
    That's what I think.

    The moderators must be too busy to think about it or realize the impact it has on others who call this their internet muslim home. We all have to have one of those you know.

    As'salamu alaykum,
    What Happened to the forum dudes?
    Some have left for other venues, some are offline for good, some of us lurk extensively. People move on, others replace them, and so on.

    I know this is kind of a non-answer, but those have always been my trademark, haven't they?

    Regards,

    [PS: Nice to see you are still around, Al-Boriqi.]

    I am honored to be mentioned in your 5K post. If I have the wherewithall I will mention you in mine.

    What's going on, eh? Well, things have happened. I still live where I've lived for 10 years now, and so on. Vinod's doing alright, I guess. I am sure he'll fill you in on all sordid details.

    I'm glad to see you're still hanging in there.
