    Default Who is Ibrahims Lord?

    Genesis 18
    New International Version (NIV)

    The Three Visitors
18 The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.
3 He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord,[a] do not pass your servant by. 4 Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”

God is speaking through an angel. Later on 2 angels leave the tent to check the city while the one God was using walked with Abraham for a lovely chat and some Jaffa cakes.

Some believe this story is about aliens and God was one of the men that ate and had his feet washed by Abraham lol

note: I just checked the Jehovah's witness bible verson and there's say "Jehovah" but Abraham doesn't even know God's name... Only Moses knew Gods name.
    Exodus, 6:2-3

If the lord is an angel....then pop back to ch 17 and answer who the lord is there...!!!??? The answer is clearly stated in the Torah.

    Hope this helps

    Regards

But then how come Moses couldn't see God'a face and Abraham could? Also I didn't say the lord is an angel, I said he was speaking through an angel which is why he stayed while his buddys left to check the city out. God uses the prophets as his spokes person too.
Also the angel God was using heard rumours about the city.

So the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so blatant that I must go down and see if they are as wicked as the outcry suggests. If not, I want to know.” (Genesis 18:20, 21)

God knows everything... He even knows about Jeremiah and he isnt even born yet (Jeremiah 1:5)

He has infinite knowledge, he's not stupid as people turn him out to be ._.

As for jacob, he had a lucid dream and saw what he thought could be God. Remmber that no man has seen at any time? I saw Krishna once in my dream =p he's awaome

the lord here is Jehovah god....a physical preincarnate Jesus Christ.
    Help me understand this.

God became man at the time of Abraham, but not by being born to a human mother - so presumably did not share any DNA with Mary, as Mary hadn't been born yet.

But when Jesus was born, he was a baby and then grew up to be a man.. how can this person born of a woman be the same as the person who appeared to Abraham earlier?

(These aren't rhetorical questions, I'd like to understand the logic here)

    Cheers,
    Shafique

Sorry, but I couldn't immediately see an answer to my queries (may I politely ask again?)

The one who spoke of cause =p

he was the only one who stayed while the other 2 left. Later on we see that the 2 who went to the city were angels and that's when the crowed wanted to have sex with them. Ither that or we have a human god walking around not knowing what's going on in the world he created... In daniel a man also came to him and we find out later he was also an angel but he only came to show daniel visions. So he wasn't God's spokes person but a messanger.

I like the alien/UFO idea though =p makes things more intresting and that theses "men" were aliens (enki and his brother forgot his name) who created us as a slave race and checking up on our evolution. Oh and there was enki's son who was good but then became evil and the new agers say he is the OT God lol... Mardok his name was I think

Who do you think resselled with jacob?

What's interesting here is that the god of Abraham, Isaac and jacob (Yahweh) is only revealed after Abraham left pagan ur of the Chaldeans (present day Iraq).

It is the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that is worshiped by true believers....not any pagan god that has its roots in ur....that is where Allah has its roots.

    Kind regards
