    Default Setting idols with God

God stresses this out quite alot in the OT and the Quran and I'm wondering if it also means idols as in humans to?

When the Christains pray they always say "in the name of your beloved son Jesus Christ" so in a sence they have put an idol infront of God to get to God as a Hindu uses there statues to get to the unseen God.

    Intresting fact:
Did you know that Jesus never taught to say "in the name of your son Jesus Christ"?. (Matthew 6:9-13)***

May peace and Truth be with us always !

Actually Moonlight, it isn't as simple as that. Christians believe in one God revealed in three distinct "persons" (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). Yet not three Gods, but one God, revealed in three distinct "persons". So, when they pray in the name of the Son, they are acknowledging the one true God having revealed himself in the flesh as Jesus (the Son) and the sacrifice of atonement He provided for all mankind, so that hey might be forgiven and enter into heaven.

I understand why Muslims see it as you describe, but to a Christian, it is an acknowledgement of God coming in the flesh and the atonement. To a Christian, while Jesus is a distinct person from the Father, He is yet still God (God the Son...God come in the flesh)... the great mystery which truly defies a complete explanation or complete understanding, just as God the Father (or Allah as a Muslim would say) likewise defies a complete explanation or complete understanding.

May the Glory of the Lord be upon your heart forever!

    Hello Lamp Of Light ^^

That does make sence if we look at it in a pantheism view (only that the Christian concept is 3 Gods instead of millions of gods)

I find that funny since my mum is a Jehovah's witnesses and they always end there prays as all Christians do. And they reject the trinity concept.

Thank you for the reply =] salaam

I can appreciate and understand why you see it that way moonlight, but again, we do not believe in three Gods. We only believe in the one true living God, who reveals Himself to us in three distinct "persons" (for lack of a better word to describe the phenomenon). The three distinct "persons" are all the one true living God, not three different Gods, despite that we define them as distinct "persons" of God.

I do understand what your saying.
Your 3 in 1 concept is the same as naruto's clone jutsu. He's 1 ninja but can clone himself into 3 and they are all 1. After the bad guys distroys one of his clones they go back to him. Your concept is that God can do the clone jutsu and be on earth while he is in heaven.

you worship Jesus (One of God's clones) but he isn't God because he is a clone of God. You see how silly this sounds?

God tryed to show himself to Moses but Moses went unconscious because God is to pure for this world. (This is in the Quran) so if God can't show himself in Moses days how come he can in Jesus days? (unless you like the OT verson where God showed his backside to Moses)
