    Wa Alaikum Assalam,

I will be grateful if you could share the real meaning of the word "Sadaq".

    Is sincerity and truthful synonymous?

Which of these is closer to the sadaq of Sadaq
Sincerity and thruthfulness are not synonymous in Arabic. SIDQ is truthfulness. Sincerity is generally linked to the concept of Taqwa.

Can a eprson be sincere but not know the absolute truth?
1- I generally do not like the term "absolute truth" because we all have holes in our knowledge and so a person can be sincere with holes in his or her knowledge.

2- However, the truly sincere person will acknowledge the areas where he or she may be weak and then point out that his or her opinion is to the extent of their knowledge. He also needs to present all the evidences forth, the ones that support his view as well as the ones that may not support his view.

To consider that our logic is logical all the time is actually illogical. To consider that our understanding of the text is correct all the time is also illogical.

Islahi states regarding translation of word Sadaq in taddabur

He states " Sadaq's real meaning is that something is exactly appropriate. Its essence is firmness of spirit and being solid. The ropes tied to a spear not only appear strong but when tested are also strong, that spear in Arabic is called Sadaq al kaoub. The tongue is in harmony with the heart, there is complete rapport between action and words, the inside of a person is a replica of his outer being, belief and deeds are in complete agreement. These things represent Sadaq and the entire being stands out shinning because of it. If this is not there then there is no meaning to humanity. This is what provides the wings to fly, with which he climbs and ascends to the heights of spiritualism and this also provides support to his steadfastness.
