I was saying no as well...it was a rhetorical question. Hinting at the mosque scenario.

Please explain my double standard? (once you have read this post)

Its so double standard to use the same reasons against a gay bar that other use against a mosque. If you want to be fair you either tolerate them both, or none. I don't understand you don't see that... it is really beyond me.

besides, there are already gaybars and sexshops in manhattan, just like mosques.
You seem to have totally missed my point, but then at the end restated it "(besides, there are already gaybars and sexshops in manhattan, just like mosques.)". <<--Thats exactly what I meant, intention is the key here. Those gaybars and mosques wern't made out of spite, and neither is this proposed Manhattan "Islamic Comminity Centre" in the news. Whereas your 'joke' was.

To restate: The location of the proposed Islamic Center was NOT chosen to insult anyone, its not even actually that near ground zero! How far away does it have to be exactly untill it's not offensive any more? Outsite Manhattan? Outside USA? Outside Earth?....
(Somehow I think you really want the latter..)
