Salam,

According to "A New Approach to the Study of the Quran" by Dr. Hasnuddin Ahmed,

The stylistic excellence of the Quran and its highly patterned arrangement was accepted as early as the ninth century, when the tools of literary analysis were applied to the passes of the Quran.

What is the difference between the employment of these literary tools in the analysis of the Quran and the Prophet pbuh relentlessly pointing to the Quran as a miracle.

If my question is not clear I can rephrase it.

Thanks. Salam

Salaam brother,

First, the Arabic term that is used for miracle is MUaaJIZA which literally means: "others will fail to do the same even if they try very hard"

So, the prophet (pbuh) and the Qur'an pointed that it is a miracle as they challenged humanity and Arabs in particular to produce a book like it or a chapter or a sentence like it.

Now, the Arabs spoke the Arabic language instinctively without analyzing rules and regulations of the Arabic grammar and so on. When non Arabs started learning Arabic, they had to study those patterns of speech and therefore the birth of the books related to the study of the Arabic language and then the study of the literature of the Qur'an. When they did, they could get an insight into the miracle workings of the Qur'an, but only an insight in only one aspect and that is the literary style.

I hope this answers the question.
