Video: Iraq - In The Name of Freedom

The coalition forces before the launch of their war on Iraq promised the removal of a Saddam style dictatorship with the implementation of freedom and democracy. It was in the name of Freedom that Britain and America launched a brutal war on the people of Iraq who are predominantly Muslim. Far from accepting the occupation of the coalition forces, the people of Iraq have refused to be forced to accept democracy and freedom. In replacement of Saddam, America has installed a new dictator and continues its onslaught on cities and villages in Iraq that wish to remain independent. This powerful and moving documentary will question the justification of the whole war, expose the butchery inflicted upon the Iraqi people and set a vision (for action) for the Muslim communities in Britain and the West.

as-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatu-llahi wa barakatu "1924"

yes, but until the ummah learns to look beyond itself for help, it will fail. the religion of unity is not about division: west/east, muslim/non-muslim, religious/secular, all these are categories are entirely artificial and worse than useless. the real division is not like this. it is more like those with good hearts/those without. but even good hearts are often veiled with pictures, and ash-shaytan uses this to keep us divided and ineffective in leading the world under the banner of peace and love and justice and mercy and freedom.

the religion of unity will not come into its own on the world stage...or any other stage for that matter...unless and until it reaches beyond all these walls, and sees through all the pictures and idols of the mind into the hearts of people, and learns to speak and appeal to those hearts without anger or mistrust or fear. our brothers and sisters are not only muslims, but all people everywhere whose hearts intend the good and feel remorse about the bad. this world is full of people like that, muslim or not...and we need to stand up for them and aid them in their battles and causes in His name, if we expect them to help us in ours.

for my part i think `isa (as) will have to come to break all these pictures and walls down that divide us from each other needlessly. we can only prepare the way, insha-llah.

wa s-salaam
