Salam,
I miss him too. His computer wasn't working so getting online was pretty difficult for him. Insha'Allah he'll be back with us soon.

Salaam all,
Wow you guys noticed my absence. I feel so special! :o
I was actually in Chicago, spending some time at a relatives house, with the kids and all. Their were some issues with the computer, but I'm back home now.
There were some odd 237 new threads to churn through, and I spent a many good hours last night, reading as much as I could, but I barely made it half way through. Still quite a few to scan through, but I don't know which one is which now, the old and new are mixed together.
I've actually grown quite fond of Ansar Al-Haqq, I saw some of his funny posts, and especially the one where he asked Maulana Haroon if he was possessed by a Jinn. LMFAO !! :D

lol :D
Why thank you dear xp2. I appreciate your posts as well.
Btw, I have confirmed that Shaykh Haroon has defeated the Jinn, and is not posessed. If I am not mistaken his evoloution goes like this:
Grand Sheikh -> Grandily Evil Sheikh -> Apka Jaani (this was the most appealing) -> Kingly Sheikh (he chose royalty) -> Darth Sheikha (he has fallen to the dark side i.e. posessed)
Most fascinating actually.

I am surprised that you are surprised about our surprise at your absence.
Just look at your reputation. Everyone loves you.

Salam,
Heh, I've also noticed that you've moved around quite a bit, dear Ansar Al-Haq. Perhaps the unfortunate placement of your currect recidings is more tolerable than your previous, reddish habitat. ;) Ah well, it doesn't matter if you're hyperactive or cyberactive, as long as you're active, no?

Yep. you got me right, Br. Ratatosk.
But you have reminded me of something.
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR AVATAR AND TITLE????
Were you not a grand squirrel before? Have you decided to return to humanity?
Peace all.

A wonderful and homely cardboard box situated in the middle of a busy intersection. Life is rough.
And the answer is meant to be. We used to dream of living in A wonderful and homely cardboard box situated in the middle of a busy intersection.

Salam,
My avatar? I was on a 14.4 K modem for a while. Avatars take ages to load on such a high-end system. 'Nuff said. Truth be told, I got pretty bored with the pic. I still have it somewhere on my hardest of all drives. I take it you're fond of the Flying Circus, no?

Actually, that was just a bit of a gimmick. The rep thing can be changed quite easily. I'm beginning to like the shade of red now. More than one newcomer has taken it at face value now, and I don't want to give any false impressions. Besides, I would much rather be hated. :)

Oh.
You have gone from being the most respected to a hated demon!!
Just kidding.

Btw, can you explain how that system works?
It appears like every post does not equal one reputation point. Very confusing.

Brother, you should ask MF on how the rep system works. She has a link that explains it rather well.

yeah your rep power seems to be growing if you have more reputation points, meaning you hand out more points depending on how respected you are yourself.

Salaam XP!
I was saying this to Minzz yesterday, i think i should mention it to u too. U see in those kinda MASSSSSSSIVE forums where there are so many members and posts going on that u cant see where u last posted, the rep system works well, and high numbers to attain lots of bars are easier to get, i.e. for 5 bars what is it 500 points or something? I mean, who is gonna get 500 points? They'll be sitting here for eons, literally years. So i ask that the rep boundaries be reduced to accomodate the size of the forum. Is that reasonable?

it doesnt matter for me. in fact i dont see the point to a reputation system because whenever i post a topic it goes to everyone out their.. i want to and like to hear all the different opinions wether its good or bad... so it doesnt make a different if i have 5000 points of -5000 points they both give out a good message. 5000 points says i reply alot and have good advice...-5000 says i speak the truth and dont try to sugar coat it...their is alot of ppl out their that only hear what they want to hear so u can never please them by the truth... so i dont see any importance of rep points... and anywayz wont this all turn into a competition if pplz started to care too much of their rep point.

Thanks for the info everyone. (rep points to all of you!)

Salaam Haroon,
That is a reasonable and valid point. The forum comes with a default level of "how many points you need" to gain an extra bar. I've thought about this before too, but there are other factors which help spread the reputation around;
For every X number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every X number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
So you see, after a certain amount of time and posts, users should be able to give more than just "1" point for each positive rep, thus speeding up the process. I thought that if we set the level too low, everyone would end up with green bars. The other thing, is that not many people are spreading the reputation around enough.
Anyway, I'll present the case and see if we can lower the levels to gain the 2nd and 3rd green blocks, and maybe keep the other higher levels a little harder to reach.

if thats the case than i think im gonna need a thread all to myself to fit in all the bars im gonna get... lol... j/k... but yea look at this i love you guys so much that i just cant stop posting here in like 13 days i've got 70 posts thats amazing not even i thaught i would be here for so long, but yes xp you got a point not alot of people give out rep points... not even me... i just give them out to ones that i think deserve it and not just give it out for the sake ofit or just because i can give it out.
