The Holy Quran is blessing of Allah for us.This is noor and light and complete guaidence in this life and life hereafter. But I am sorry to say that most of the muslims themselves are not paying due attention towards Holy Quran. Then how can they ask other non-muslims to read and understand Holy Quran. Therefore it is very important for us to read and understand the book of Allah. If we will do this then Allah will help us as He has promised in His book and we will be successful in this world and the world hereafter.

Salams,
You are absolutely right.Muslims have been very indifferent
to the Quran.Let,s discuss the causes of this indifference.
I think one of the causes is the false notion of the muslims
that they could amass reward(sawab) and could book a seat in
paradise by just reciting the Quran without comprehension.

There might be another problem for the muslims whose mother tongue is not Arabic. Reading the mere translation without gettin the indepth insight into the true meaning of verses, leads to many confusions. This requires some effort, that is to get some formal training on the language, and then to get some advice and help on confusing topics from perhaps a scholar. Many of us dont have the will and thrust to put in that effort coz we are too much involved in the worldy matters. And this doesnt end to just reading and comprhending the message of Quran, the real work goes in actually practising what one reads and understands. The whole stuff boils down to two words, "will" to learn and "guts" to practice the message of quran. Many of us just pay a lip service to the spirit of quran, but how many actually go about practising it?It's just like the simple fact in evry other matter of life. You cant become a skilled driver by just reading the driving manual.

Salams,
You are right Vector. It needs strong will and guts to learn and practise The Quran. To savour the splendour and beauties of The Quran
and to benifit from its message, the reader must surrender to it.Once
a person approaches the Quran with a sincere intenion, the Quran yields its treasure.Allah(swt) has promised that He would show His ways to those who strive in His way.

Assalam-u-Alaikum,
The Quran grudges its wisdoam and guidance to those people:
1:who are not ready to mould their lives according to it.
2:Who do no shun evil. Those people who are bent upon defiling
their souls might not be able to have their souls illuminated
with its light.
3:who turn to The Quran for Justification and vindication of
their ideas and opinions.
