If they're facing religious persecution, then it's time for jihad for them. They may fail, but they will be richly rewarded in their afterlife for this extremely holy endeavor in any case.

i'll admit, that most certainly does not appear to be the ontological reality that we exist in, yet, i understand, that is the correct method of application.

The JIHAD or the Holy War in Islam is of two finds. One is Qital or Fighting for the Cause of Islam and protecting the Muslims. The second type is the Jihad against the evil in which fighting is not necessary, this kind of Jihad can be by word of mouth, by publicatons or voicing opposition to anything that is evil. The second kind of Jihad is a continuous process in life while the first form Qital is to be declared by persons in authority. Its like declaring war. During the life of the Holy Prophet a Muslim State had been formed in Medinah. The verses relating to Qital were relvealed in the Holy Quran after the formation of a Muslim State, and therefore, the Jihad was declared by the State. Now a days there is not a single (strictly) Muslim State in existance so where ever the Muslims are oppressed, the Holy War is to be declared by the consensus of Ulema or the learned. However in case of Chinese Muslims the first form of Jihad would be like suicide because the oppressed Chinese Muslims have no material means to FIGHT the Chinese Army. Therefore, the second type of Jihad, i.e. raising the voice of whoe Ummah agaisnt the oppression in which the Muslim Countries can play significant role, is the correct option. At all forums, U.N. O.I.C. or any other forums such voice should be raised. Muslim Scholars should write articles and try to awaken the world conscience to the plight of Muslim in China. I think this is the better form of Jihad under the circumstances
